"Sunflower Study in Yellow" Fine Art Print

What began as a study became an exploration of what happens when an artist slows down and truly looks.

Created while preparing for a larger painting inspired by Vincent van Gogh, Sunflower Study began with a simple question: What does a sunflower look like through my own eyes?

Inspired by Van Gogh’s fascination with sunflowers and his expressive use of color, Lisa studied the flower’s unruly petals, intricate center, oversized leaves, shadows, and textures—then allowed her own visual language to take over.

Layers of color, expressive marks, drips, texture, and unexpected polka dots transform the familiar sunflower into something distinctly her own.

The painting became a reminder that finding your artistic voice isn’t always about knowing exactly where you’re going. Sometimes, you study what came before you, look closely at what’s in front of you, and simply begin.

Each fine art print is made and packed with love on 320gsm smooth cotton rag art paper. Enjoy museum-grade reproductions at a fraction of the gallery cost!
